Can You Discern a True Christian?

more and more we are getting "true christians" mentioned in the literature, or comments such as the following from the april 1st 2013 watchtower, "today, jesus genuine followers help people to understand what the bible teaches about god.".

this sanctimonious and self-righteous attitude is being embedded in minds, just like the "new scrolls" fairy story.

when such terms are used at the meetings, i cringe because of the "interested ones" sitting there.

I feel the need to ask a question. There are many gruops out there who think they are the "true" Christians. Why would you say the JWs are different? Or, am I missing your point?

i am certain that the watchtower society is of the devil , they tell so many lies to cover up their false doctrines and satan is the father of all lies .

so logically somewhere in those false doctrines there is something that prevents the rank and file from receiving salvation as satan works so hard to keep them in "the truth " does anyone else agree with that statement ?

if so, what is it in their teaching that keeps them from the free gift of salvation that comes by the grace of god alone ?

DD- On the Evangelical and JW forum that Rob Bowman ran both Bowman and Presbyterian professor Hoffstetter both agreed on the earth as the eternal home for Believers as the 'official view' their religious denominations held but they both admitted that the average man and woman sitting in the pews believe they are spending eternity in heaven.

I'm aware of some debate about this, in many denominations, however when you talk about the 'official view' ask yourself what offical branch of which presbyterian church do they speak for.

I know you like to make a big deal out of different views about minor issues among Christians. Unlike you and JWs, most Christians don't require agreement on everything. There are some essential doctrines they have in common, but the eternal state of believers isn't one of them.

most Protestants believe and teach they will come back to the earth at the Second Coming and live forever on the earth

That is NOT a true statement.

There are some who believe in a millenial reign, but most all agree the eternal state will be in heaven.

Denominations came to be because of human interpretations, there is no way around them since the bibel is and alsways has been, interpreted.

And the WT came to be because people put more faith in the human interpretations of their "Denominations" than the clear words of Christ.

Vs The Bible says... or Jesus said...

Is there any doubt about how this discussion started? I know there is no doubt about the fact that according to the bible, not all humans are God's children. That's NOT just my opinion.

It doesn't matter what I think, Jesus was warning the Pharisees about "blasphemy against the Spirit" in Matt 12. He tells this same group that God is not their father, their father is the devil, in John 8.

Can you think of anyone more Pharisee like?
